Steampunk Charm Bracelet
I love chunky charm bracelets and with Halloween just around the corner, I have been working on a fun Steampunk inspired charm bracelet to go with my Halloween costume. I have created several charms for my bracelet with my Sizzix Big Shot, but for the purposes of this tutorial I will be focusing on the two charms I made with the Vintaj Brass Bezels.
Vintaj Bezel Jewelry
Sizzix & Vintaj Supplies Used:
Sizzix Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Multipurpose Platform and Standard Cutting Pads
Vintaj Brass Bezels – Large Rosemal Bezel and Small Bamboo Bezel
Sizzix Framelits Die Set 4pk – Round Bezels
Sizzix DecoEmboss Die – Steampunk Parts by Vintaj
Sizzix DecoEmbiss Die – Filigree Garden
Vintaj Patinas – Painted Barn Collection by Ranger
Vintaj Glaze by Ranger
Vintaj Copper Arte Foil by Ranger
Other Supplies:
Paint Brush
Crafting Mat
Large Rosemal Bezel
Starting with a small square of the Copper Arte Foil and Steampunk Parts DecoEmboss Die, I placed the Arte Foil in the embossing folder. Next, I sandwiched the embossing folder between two standard cutting pads. Using tab 1 on the multipurpose platform, passed the “sandwich” through the Big Shot to emboss.
I then removed the Arte Foil from the folder. Then on a crafting mat, added the Earth Vintaj Patina with a small paint brush and quickly rubbed off the patina paint with a paper towel to highlight the embossed detail.
Using the corresponding Sizzix Round Framelits, I centered the Framelit on one of the embossed gears. I then placed the Arte Foil and Framelit on the magnetic platform between two cutting pads and passed the sandwich through the Big Shot.
At this point I could have added patina paint to the bezel, but for my bracelet, I wanted to leave it the natural brass color. Next, I removed the adhesive backing from the Arte Foil die-cut and and placed it in the center of the bezel. I then sealed the foil center with the Vintaj Glaze and a paint brush.
For the small Bamboo Bezel, I repeated the same process as described above, except I used the Filigree Garden DecoEmboss Die with the Arte Foil.
I love how easy it was to add substantial detail to my Steampunk Charm Bracelet!
