Father’s Day is just around the corner and this project is just in time! If you are anything like me, I rack my brain year after year trying to find a unique gift for the Father’s in my life. A couple of years ago I made these personalized “Since” tumblers and shared a quick sublimation video of the process. It ended up being one of those projects people immediately connected with because it’s simple, customizable, and actually useful for gifts. I’m excited to share it with you, so let’s get started!

How to Make Personalized “Since” Sublimation Tumblers
Honestly, this is still one of my favorite types of sublimation projects because you can take one basic layout and turn it into endless variations just by changing the wording and dates in Cricut Design Space.
The original set included:
- Husband Since 2001
- Dad Since 1979
- Grampa Since 1998
- Legend Since 1954
But you could easily turn these into:
- Mama Since
- Grandpa Since
- Dog Mom Since
- Teacher Since
- Retired Since
- Coach Since
That’s why designs like this continue to work. They feel personal without requiring a complicated design setup.
I used Cricut Access fonts for the original version, but you can absolutely swap in your favorite fonts or customize the colors to match your own style.
Supplies Needed
- 20 oz sublimation tumbler
- Sublimation printer
- Sublimation paper
- Heat-resistant tape
- Tumbler press or sublimation oven
- Cricut Design Space
- Cricut Access fonts
- Butcher paper
- Lint roller
How to Recreate the Design in Cricut Design Space
Open Cricut Design Space and create a new project.
Start by adding your main word like:
- Dad
- Husband
- Grandpa
- Legend
Then add:
- “SINCE”
- the year
- a small heart or accent shape
The oversized bold lettering is what really makes this design work well on tumblers. It stays readable after sublimation and still stands out once wrapped around the cup.
For a standard 20 oz skinny tumbler, I usually size the wrap around:
- 8.2 inches wide
- 9.3 inches tall
Always measure your own tumbler first since sizes can vary slightly between brands. You may want to rotate the design before printing for easier wrapping.
One of the reasons I still like this project is because it’s so easy to personalize quickly. Once you create one version, you can duplicate the design and update the names, dates, colors, or fonts in just a few minutes.
Don’t forget to mirror on your printer dialog screen and trim off the black registration marks before pressing.
That makes these great for:
- gifts
- craft fairs
- Etsy shops
- custom orders
- last-minute holiday projects
Watch my process in the video below:
Sublimation Tips
Before pressing:
- lint roll the tumbler thoroughly
- secure the design tightly with heat-resistant tape
- use butcher paper to protect your press
Since these designs use bold solid lettering, clean alignment makes a big difference in the finished result.
Tumbler Press Settings
Your exact settings may vary depending on your blanks and equipment, but a common starting point is:
- 385°F
- 50 to 60 seconds per side
If you use a sublimation oven instead of a tumbler press, follow the recommendations for your specific tumbler blanks.

I’m sharing the Cricut Design Space version of this design with email subscribers so you can customize the wording, dates, colors, and fonts to create your own versions.
The original project uses Cricut Access fonts, but you can easily substitute other fonts directly inside Cricut Design Space if needed.
More Ways to Use This Design Style
This same layout also works well for:
- mugs
- tote bags
- shirts
- signs
- journals
- bookmarks
- can coolers
- keychains
Once you create the basic template, you can reuse the design style across multiple projects and product types.
I hope you find this project helpful, and if you make your own please tag me on social. I’d love to see it!
