It’s football season and there’s no better way to kick off the season than with a fun recipe for Chocolate Football Cereal Treats!
It’s no secret that I love cereal treats, you will find them in almost every party I style. My husband loves them so much that even if I don’t add them to my party table, I make a batch just for him. I recently shared a Football Party with you all which included these fun Chocolate Football Cereal Treats and today I’m sharing just how easy they are to make for Game Day!
Let’s get started!
Chocolate Football Cereal Treats
Ingredients:
6 cups Cocoa/Chocolate Rice Cereal
4 cups Mini Marshmallows
2 tbs Butter
non-stick cooking spray
Icing
- Put the marshmallows in a glass bowl with the butter in the center and microwave for about 1 minute and 15 seconds.
Combine melted marshmallows and cocoa cereal in large bowl and mix.
- Transfer mixture to a greased cookie sheet and spread evenly.
- Once cooled, cut with a football shaped cookie cutter
(If I don’t have a cookie cutter, I often cut a template out of card-stock and cut the treats with a knife)
- Place some icing in a plastic bag and trim the end to add the threads.

You know what…I’ve never had a chocolate flavored Rice Krispie Treat and now I feel deprived. I think it’s really fun to create these treats in different shapes, and the footballs are so fun-looking.
