I recently partnered with DecoArt as part of their blogger outreach program and was excited to learn of their Social Artworking Junior program. With Social Artworking, party guests paint a work of art and when the party is over, they take their masterpiece home with them. It’s the perfect party activity and party favor rolled into one!
How to Plan A Super Hero Art Party
Social Artworking Junior has a large variety of designs to choose from, perfect for any party theme from pre-schoolers to teens. My youngest son loves Superheroes and crafts so naturally we wanted to say goodbye to summer with a Batman Art Party! The Super Hero Signal design was perfect to customize for our Batman Party. The design allows you to customize it with your favorite Superero, too!
How It Works:
With the Social Artworking Junior online “Party Planner” feature, parents pick a design, enter the number of guests attending and the system calculates the supplies and quantities needed. It doesn’t get easier than that! For our party of six, we received six wooden easels, six 12×12 canvases, paint, instructions, transfer paper and tape.
Party Prep:
You don’t need a whole lot of space for a paint party. I set up two four foot tables in my dining room and we had just enough space for our six artists! To protect my tables, I covered them with washable tablecloths. I set up each station with the Social Artworking easel, canvas and brush set. I added a paper placemat, paint palette, plastic cup for washing the brushes and a small bag of coordinating party favors.
We had more than enough paint to compete six paintings and if I may add, the Easels and paint brushes are very high quality. I definitely will be saving my supplies for another art party!
The 12×12 canvases and table top easels are the perfect size for little artists.
I also printed a banner of the finished design and hung it on the wall for the artists to reference.
Our friends from Lollipics sent matching lollipops to share with our guests. Aren’t they awesome? If you are looking for personalized lollipops, head on over to Lollipics!
Party Plan-It Tip: I traced the design on the canvas per the instructions for each guest ahead of time. This allowed for more painting time!
Let The Paint Party Begin!
Once our guests arrived, we served lunch and then began painting right away. Each guest received an apron and picked a station to begin. I’m not a painter so I was a little unsure how I was going to be able to guide our little artists. But the easy to follow, step-by-step instructions made it super easy for me and our artists!
After about an hour, our little artists were done with their works of ART!
Party Plan-It Tip:
Set up a small table with photo booth props, aprons, and craft station! I set up a small table with a Create Your Own Mask station and also Batman and Superman Sand Art. While we waited for the paint to dry, the kids headed over to the craft table to make masks.
What a fun day! I love each and every painting, they are all perfectly unique! Our Social Artworking party was so much fun! With all the designs available, Social Artworking is great party activity for all ages and themes. A girls night in would be so much fun!
A big THANK YOU to DecoArt and Social Artworking for sponsoring our Art Party! And thank you to all of our guests (Jordan, Nina, Junior and Uriel) we had a blast!
Be sure to check out our Batman Party to see all the details from the dessert table and more!
Happy Painting!
