It’s officially time for Halloween prep so “Let’s do Some Friendly Neighborhood BOO’ing!” I’m so excited for fall and Halloween. It may be early but now is the time to start planning!
Halloween is not only a big deal at home, it’s a big deal at work. My husband and I work together at an Medical Device Engineering company, where we actually met 20 years ago. And one of the many fun traditions we have at work is the Annual Halloween Costume Party and Pumpkin Carving Contest. In the 21 years I’ve worked there, I don’t think I’ve ever missed it!
This year, I’m going to BOO It Forward and BOO my co-worker who coordinates the Halloween festivities with a fun DIY Bubbling Witches’ Cauldron filled with candy. I know she’s gonna love it, and it will make the perfect centerpiece for the party for all my co-workers to enjoy. After all, you can never have enough chocolate in the office!
I loved how it came out so much I made a smaller one for my own office. And I’m excited to share how you can make your own too!
Let’s get started!
DIY Bubbling Witches Cauldron
What you will need:
- MARS® Halloween ‘Mummy’ Chocolate/Sugar Fun Size Mixed Bag
- Plastic Cauldron
- Spray Insulation
- Metallic Silver Paint
- Lime Green Paint
- Paint Brushes
- Witch Legs (optional)
Check out my video tutorial for full instructions and scroll down for step out photos.
Start by adding a coat of Metallic Silver Paint to the Candy Cauldron. This gives it just a shiny metallic sheen. You still want the black to show through so don’t worry about full coverage.
Once the paint dries, apply the spray insulation to the rim of the cauldron. Be sure to read the instructions and wear protective wear.
Once the foam has cured as directed, paint it with lime green paint and let dry.
Now it’s time to fill the cauldrons!
You can find the MARS® Halloween ‘Mummy’ Chocolate/Sugar Fun Size Mixed Bag in the seasonal aisles at Walmart. You can also find the Walmart exclusive MARS® Spider-Man Chocolate/Sugar Variety Bag just in time to get the Spider-Man Homecoming DVD & Blue-Ray on October 17th also at Walmart.
Next, simply fill the cauldrons with candy.
How fun are these Witch Legs? I couldn’t resist them when I saw them during my trip to Walmart.
I also couldn’t resist this funny American Greetings Halloween card to go with my BOO kit, isn’t it clever?
These also make great laboratory cauldrons for a Mad Scientist party and can be reused year after year with your Halloween décor!
I’m so excited to share this BOO kit with my coworker! Who will you BOO-ing this Halloween? Be sure to check out the MARS® Halloween candy at Walmart for your BOO Kit and BOO It Forward!
Happy BOO-ing!

It is adorable, Michelle!
Thank you so much Elise!
This is a great idea! I have a ton of cauldrons from last year that could use a little DIY! (client)
This is really cute, but why the metallic paint? It doesn’t look any different when you’re done. Is is just that it doesn’t show up well in the video or pics?
Thanks Maria! It gives it a pewter look, like an old iron cauldron. Just a little hard to see in the photos. 🙂
Where do I get the cauldrons?
Walmart carries them!
Too too cute! I love this! <3
Thank you so much!
This is such a cute idea! I love the witches legs sticking out!
Thank you so much!
Oh my goodness. Witches are my favorite halloween character! This is too cute.
Thank you Kallee!
Can you advise in detail what kind of spray foam/insulation you used? Different kinds give different effects. Yours look great!
Hi Sarah, I used GREAT STUFF GAPS AND CRACKS brand. Hope this helps!
