How to Sublimate a Dollar Tree Santa Snack Plate
This project is super easy to complete and is great for crafters just starting their sublimation journey. I love trying new techniques with sublimation and wood, as you can see in my How to Sublimate on Wood With or Without a Sublimation Printer post. Today we are changing it up a bit and will be using Glitter HTV!
What you will need:
Heat Press (I use my Cricut Autopress)
Sublimation Printer (I use my Epson F170)
Santa Plate Design (pick from many designs in this adorable bundle!)
I’ve created a quick video to show you each step….
Doesn’t that look so easy? It really is, so let’s go over the step again…
First, we’ll remove the tag and cut the vinyl to size. You’ll want to make sure the shiny side is up, then flip it over to secure the vinyl to the wood with heat-resistant tape.
We’re going to press it at 330 degrees for 40 seconds. Don’t forget the butcher paper to protect the pressing mat and heat plate.
Next, we’re going to cut the excess vinyl with a craft knife. Remove the carrier sheet and sand the edges as needed.
I printed the Santa plate design on two pieces of paper to fit the wood round, and now I’m lining them up and taping them together. We’re going to sublimate at 380 degrees for 40-50 seconds. Don’t forget butcher paper and heat-resistant tape.
Remove the paper and there you have it! Isn’t it adorable? I love the glitter and it’s perfect for Christmas Eve! The Santa Tray design bundle has several to pick from so you can make it your own!
I hope you give this project a try and if you do, please tag me on social @michellespartyplanit, I’d love to see your creations!
