Unboxing the HTVRONT Heat Presses and HTV
I love a good heat press so when my friends over at HTVRONT sent me a shipment of Heat PRessess and Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV) I couldn’t wait to try them out to share them with you all! If you’ve seen my Craft Studio, you know I already have a collection of heat presses, which qualifies me to be able to provide an honest review. 🙂
I created a quick unboxing video to show you what I received below…
I know the video is fast, so here’s the breakdown of what I received:
Solid HTV (black, white, orange, and green)
Galaxy HTV Sheets
HTVRONT Heat Press and Mini Heat Press Review
Ok, now that we know what we’ll be reviewing, let’s get right into the nitty gritty. At first glance, the Heat Press and Mini Heat Press look very similar to other brands I currently own so I anticipated that they would work similarly as well. And I was right!
The Heat Press has a temp and time button to set. But it also has a pressure indicator on the display. Once the press is ready to go and you push the button to press onto your garment, the pressure indicator shows you how much pressure you are applying. This comes in handy since each HTV came with a guideline for pressure. I really liked this feature since it’s not easy to know how much you are pressing down on other hand-held heat presses.
The Mini Press has three settings, and like others on the market, its shape fits perfectly in your hand. The plate is a little more “grippy” than I’m used to, but it was easy to use nonetheless.
Both heat presses included a cradle for when not in use. And each heat press is available in an array of colors to match your craft room decor!
Let’s talk pricing. Both heat presses are substantially more affordable than other popular brands available on the market. Considering that they are comparable in function and style to other leading brands, these heat presses are certainly worth a closer look!
To test the heat presses and HTV, I created a few designs in Cricut Design Space and cut them with my Cricut Explore 3. All the HTVs cut perfectly on the “iron on” setting with default pressure. They weeded nicely, especially the Galaxy HTV. I’ve never seen an HTV weed so smoothly! The Leopard took a little more effort to peel. but it didn’t tear or rip. In fact, all the HTVs were weeded nicely and didn’t rip when I pulled them from the carrier sheets. Like other HTVs, the shiny side goes down. I will add that unlike the leading brand of Iron On that I use often, the HTVs all came with cutting and pressing instructions included in the packaging. No need to look up heat settings on the web, which is a big time saver, if you ask me!
I’m no stranger to HTVRONT HTV, it’s been a long-time favorite of mine, so it’s no surprise that layering the HTV was also a breeze.
I did run into a small snag with the Chameleon HTV, when I peeled it some of the edges lifted. But I was able to smooth the spots all easily with the Mini Heat Press. I may have not waited long enough before peeling, but I was able to fix it with no issue.
I created a quick video showing you my process, so check it out below…
As you can see, I was very pleased with the performance of both Heat Presses and all the HTVs I tried. I will definitely be using them all in projects to come! I hope this review is helpful in your search for a heat press for your craft projects.
