Sublimation Tumblers for Cricut Mug Press
When I first bought my Sublimation Printer, I only had the Cricut Mug Press to sublimate mugs. While I love making mugs, I wanted to venture out and try other substrates like Skinny 20-ounce Tumblers, Glass Cans, Sports Water Bottles, and all of the other trending Tumblers. So, with that in mind, I tried a lot of different substrates and with some trial and error, I narrowed down my top picks! Before we get into my list of Best Sublimation Tumblers for Cricut Mug Press, let’s go over the basics.
Before we start, I must note: The Cricut Mug Press was designed with Mugs in mind and it does a wonderful job in sublimating mugs with Infusible Ink Transfer Sheets and Sublimation Prints. Even though there are several substrates marketed by third party manufacturers to fit the Cricut Mug Press, the Mug Press was not specifically designed for substrates other than ceramic mugs. My mug press is well beyond the manufacturer’s warranty so I dared to try other substrates to share with ya’ll! With that being said, proceed at your own risk. All of the substrates I’m sharing can be sublimated with both Infusible Ink Transfer Sheets and Sublimation Prints. I personally prefer printing my own designs to sublimate, so that’s what I did for this overview.
Basic Sublimation Supplies Needed:
Sublimation Printer and Sublimation Paper
or Infusible Ink Transfer Sheets (and cutting machine)
Butcher Paper (this protects the mug press from ink transfer)
Silicone Tumbler Wrap (this is used with substrates that are a bit narrow than the Mug Press opening)
I created a quick video of the results to share with you, check it out below…

Now let’s go over each substrate…
Ceramic Mugs in the Cricut Mug Press
Let’s start with the most obvious, Ceramic Mugs. Like all substrates I will be sharing, the ceramic mugs need to be sublimation ready. Here are my favorites:
Stainless Steel Sublimation Mugs
These 12 ounce stainless steel mugs are designed to fit the Cricut Mug Press perfectly. They take just 70 seconds to sublimate. You will need to set an external timer since there isn’t one on the Cricut Mug Press.
15 oz Wine Tumbler
Stainless Steel Wine Tumbler
These stainless steel sublimation wine tumblers are small and fit nicely in the mug press. They are not straight, so you will want to limit your design to the straight part in the center. Sublimation time is 70 seconds and if you do a wrap-around design, you will need to rotate it and press for another 70 seconds.
Stainless Steel Travel Sublimation Tumbler
These tumblers come in several sizes all of which were designed to fit the Cricut Mug Press. Sublimation time is 70 seconds and if you do a full wrap design on the tumblers without handles, you will need to rotate it 90 degrees and press for another 70 seconds.
Stainless Steel Sublimation Water Bottle
These water bottles come in several sizes all of which were designed to fit the Cricut Mug Press. Sublimation time is 70 seconds and if you do a full wrap design on the water bottles you will need to rotate it 90 degrees and press for another 70 seconds. You will also need to flip it upside down and repeat.
Frosted and Clear Glass Cans
When sublimating frosted or clear glass cans, you will need to use a silicone wrap to fill the gap. Check out my tutorial on how to sublimate glass cans for all the details.
18 ounce Frosted Sublimation Glass Cans
18 ounce Clear Sublimation Glass Cans
Stainless Steel Mason Jars
These mason jars were designed to fit the Cricut Mug Press. Sublimation time is 70 seconds and if you do a full wrap design on the tumblers without handles, you will need to rotate it 90 degrees and press for another 70 seconds.
Stainless Steel Camper Mugs
These Stainless Steel Camper Mugs barely fit in the Cricut Mug Press, but they do! The sublimation time is 70 seconds. I love the size of these, they are compact but hold plenty of liquid.
I hope you find this list of Sublimation Tumblers for the Cricut Mug Press helpful. I love how all of them turned out. If you are interested in the cute graphics I used on these samples, you can find them HERE.
