Unboxing the WeCreat Vista 10W Laser
I created a quick video to demonstrate the unboxing and my first project, check it out below:
Unboxing the Machine
The WeCreat Vista 10W Laser arrives in a large box, securely packaged with plenty of padding to protect the machine during shipping. Once you remove the packing materials, you’ll find the Vista itself, along with its accessories. The Vista 10W Laser is compact with a low-profile design, making it a great option for smaller workspaces.
Each component is neatly labeled and carefully packed for easy identification. There are a few screws on the sides of the machine, which are placed for added protection during shipping. These can be removed quickly, allowing you to proceed with the setup.
Initial Setup
Once you’ve unboxed the machine, the next step is to plug the necessary components into their labeled ports. The Vista 10W comes with an air assist port, which helps minimize smoke during engraving. You will attach one end of the air hose to the machine and the other to the air assist block. Additionally, you’ll connect the power block and the USB cable to your computer for communication with the MakeIt software. The Vista is also equipped with built in Wi-Fi capabilities.
Ensure that you also attach the included hose for proper ventilation. This step is crucial to prevent smoke buildup inside the machine during engraving. Tighten the hose clamp with a screwdriver for a secure fit, and route the hose out of a window or to a ventilation system. I also am using the Booster Fan for added ventilation.
Getting Started with Your First Project: Engraving Faux Leather Coasters
Now that the machine is set up, we are ready to start engraving. In this demonstration, we’ll create Lord of the Rings-themed faux leather coasters using PYD faux leather coasters as our material. The coasters come pre-prepped for engraving, which simplifies the process.
Supplies Used:
Powering the Machine and Preparing Your Material
Power on the machine, and you’ll notice that the laser head moves into place. The Vista 10W features a top-mounted HD camera that allows for a live view of your material. This camera eliminates distortions, so you can accurately place your design onto the material with ease.
Begin by placing your faux leather coaster in the center of the laser bed. The HD camera gives you a clear, distortion-free view of the work area. The brown color of the coaster might make it a bit harder to see, but with the camera’s precision, you can still accurately align your design.
Using MakeIt Software for Design Setup
The MakeIt software provided by WeCreat is user-friendly and packed with features to ensure a smooth engraving process. Start by opening a new project and uploading your design—whether it’s a custom graphic or something you’ve downloaded. For this project, we’ll use a Lord of the Rings design featuring both text and an iconic tree graphic.
Once your design is uploaded, resize it to fit within the parameters of the coaster. After you’ve finalized the size, click the Refresh button in the software. This activates the live camera feed from the machine, allowing you to see exactly where your design will appear on the material. Fine-tune the placement of your design to make sure it’s centered on the coaster.
Selecting Material and Engraving Settings
WeCreat’s MakeIt software offers an extensive menu of material options. For this project, we’ll select Leather PVC 2mm as our material choice. For engraving PNGs, the Bit Map setting works best for faux leather, allowing the laser to accurately engrave details without cutting too deep into the material.
Once the material is selected, click the Auto Measure button to let the machine determine the depth of your material. This ensures that the laser adjusts its focus automatically based on the thickness of the faux leather.
Settings Used:
- Bitmap Engrave
- Power 100%
- Speed (mm/s) 305
- Thickness 4.92
Start Engraving
With everything set, it’s time to start engraving! Press the Start button in the software, and the machine will estimate the time needed to complete the engraving. For this project, it should take about 8 minutes to finish.
Close the lid of the machine, press the button on the front of the device, and let the laser do its work. You can watch through the machine’s safety glass as the laser precisely engraves the design onto the faux leather coaster.
Adding More Details to the Coaster
Adding a Second Design
For additional customization, you can add another design to the coaster. For this part of the tutorial, we’ll engrave a tree graphic in the center of the coaster. Using the same process as before, upload the new design into the MakeIt software. The camera will show you a live view of the coaster, allowing you to accurately place the new design over the previously engraved one.
To ensure that you don’t accidentally re-engrave the existing design, you can delete certain parts of the first graphic from the new layout. In this case, we’ll remove the outer ring design, leaving just the tree to engrave.
Once the design is perfectly aligned, click Start to begin the second engraving. This part of the project should only take a few minutes to complete.
Reviewing the Finished Product
Once the engraving is complete, press the Complete button on the software, and then safely lift the lid to reveal your newly engraved faux leather coaster. There may be some light engraving dust on the coaster, which can easily be wiped away with a damp cloth.
The results are impressive—the Vista 10W produces crisp, clean lines and intricate details. The faux leather takes the engraving well, leaving behind a professional-looking finish that’s perfect for custom gifts or home decor.
The WeCreat Vista 10W Laser offers excellent precision, ease of use, and versatility for creators of all levels. Whether you’re engraving faux leather, wood, or acrylic, the machine handles a variety of materials with minimal setup time. The integrated HD camera and MakeIt software simplify the engraving process, allowing for accurate placement and detailed results.

Hi! I love you video and your blog post. You give great details about the project and process! I do have a question regarding the wecreate vista laser. I am a newbie and want to get this deal, but what extra “stuff” do I need to get besides the actual machine to start using it? I see there are a lot of extra components you can buy, I just don’t know what to get to get started. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Hi Karen, I recommend the booster fan and a window vent kit so that you can vent the hose out of the window. You can get the vent kit on amazon or home deport to match your needs. Happy Crafting!
