You must know by now that I love popcorn boxes, I often share how to embellish store bought boxes for themed parties. So when I learned of the Laura Kelly’s Annual Popcorn Box Blog Party, I had to sign up!
Laura Kelly hosts a Popcorn Box party where crafters and bloggers are invited to decorate a popcorn box for Halloween. Participants can either spruce up the provide Popcorn Box (this year provided by World Market) or create a recipe or create basically anything they want by incorporating the box.
There are so many possibilities with popcorn boxes, especially for Halloween!
Each crafter received a box filled with goodies that we could use for our project if so desired. Such fun stuff from lots of Laura Kelly sponsors! (Laura is also hosting a giveaway, see below!)
- World Market
- Sizzix
- Kunin Group
- Scotch/3M
- Adorn-It
- Expressionery.Com
- Udderly Smooth
I wasn’t sure what I was going to make but I knew I was going to use some of my favorite Halloween Sizzix dies.
I started by cutting the scalloped edge off of the popcorn box, then wrapped the box with scrapbook paper.
Next, I cut four haunted houses using the Rickety Bigz Die and my Sizzix Big Shot and black mat board.
Then I glued some yellow tissue paper to the backside of each house and trimmed it to fit.
Next I cut a Ghost from Mat Board and the word “Beware” from black card stock using the Ghosts Bigz Die and Handwritten Halloween thinlits.
I inked the edges of the ghost and then glued the word Beware on the ghost.
Then finally I adhered a house to each side of the box with 3D foam squares and added the ghost to the front.
Add a little popcorn and that’s it! A Haunted House Popcorn Box!
