What are your plans for the Big Game? How about hosting a little Football Pizza Party? Football and pizza go hand-in-hand and with just a little bit of decor, pizza, a delicious Side Line Wedge Salad and Buffalo Ranch Dipping Sauce, you have everything you need for a Football Party! I love it when I can easily entertain family and friends, especially during football season! Who wants to spend a whole lot of time cooking during the game? Not this girl! So, naturally I’m excited to be sharing a few easy ideas and recipes with you featuring Red Baron pizza!
Easy Football Party Ideas
I love watching the Big Game with my boys. I watched football with my Dad all the time when I was little and now my boys are old enough to carry on the tradition. I have nothing but men in my house which means I need to have lots of food on hand at all times. I usually create a spread of finger foods, sweets and popcorn for my guys to enjoy during the game and at halftime. Parties don’t have to be elaborate (all the time), simple themed parties are just as fun!
Easy Party Decor
Don’t have any team specific decor? That’s okay! My team didn’t make it to the playoffs this year, but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to party! Creating a neutral football themed party is simple, start with a little backdrop, maybe a piece of art or a wall decor piece as a focal point and go from there. Collect coordinating cake stands or tiered galvanized stands to display the food. Have any football themed decor around the house? Bring it out and use it as part of your table. I have a couple of lockers that I love using for sports parties, so I pulled one out for the popcorn and the utensils.
While I was picking up the groceries for my party at Walmart, I found the cutest football field paper table cover along with a few “grass” bottle covers. I simply cut the table cover into 1 1/2 inch strips, twisted the center into a loop and strung them on twine to create a football field garland to hang on my backdrop. Instant themed decor, it really doesn’t get easier than that!
Add “referee” stripe paper straws, a bit of twine and the artificial grass bottle covers to glass jars and you’re all set for kick off!
Make dining easy, wrap the cutlery in themed napkins. These napkins are so fun, they read “Real Women Watch Football”.
Fill themed popcorn boxes with chips, pretzels or flavored popcorn!
Individual Side Line Wedge Salads are a must! Serve them in themed paper bowls to minimize the after party clean up!
Whip up a batch of Buffalo Ranch Dipping Sauce, it pairs perfectly with pizza! Serve them in individual referee striped cups to prevent the dreaded double dip!
Football themed cake-pops are always a hit with the kids! My friend Autumn made these little gems for us, she knows how much we love football! I stuck them in foam cubes in a small wooden crate and added a little paper crinkle.
We are also big pie lovers so of course I had to serve an Edwards Key Lime Pie for dessert!
You can’t have a pizza party without pizza! Pick up your favorite Red Baron pizza at Walmart. We love the Red Baron Classic Crust Special Deluxe pizza!
Side Line Wedge Salads
Everything tastes better in a cute party cup, don’t you think? Wedge salads are a family favorite and so easy to make!
What you will need:
- 1 head of iceberg lettuce (yields 4 mini salads)
- blue cheese crumbles
- diced red onion
- bacon pieces
- your favorite blue cheese dressing
Simply cut the head of lettuce into quarters (4 wedges).
Place them in themed ice cream cups and drizzle on the blue cheese dressing. Next, simply sprinkle the onions, blue cheese crumbles and bacon pieces on top of the dressing.
So easy and delicious!
Buffalo Ranch Dipping Sauce
Dipping sauce is all the rage! Don’t feel like making a batch of buffalo wings for the Big Game? Combine the taste of buffalo wings and pizza by whipping up a batch of Buffalo Ranch Dipping Sauce to accompany any variety of Red Baron pizza! This sauce is amazing and is great with chips and salads too!
What you will need:
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 packet of dry ranch dressing mix
- 2 tbs buffalo wing hot sauce
Combine the milk, mayo, sour cream and ranch mix in a small bowl and whisk.
Once you have whisked the sauce thoroughly removing any lumps, stir in the hot sauce. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Serve the sauce in small cups for easy transport and mess free clean up! And you’re ready for the Big Game!
Don’t forget to head over to Walmart to pick up plenty of Red Baron Pizza! While you are there, check out the fun football party decor and grab an Edwards pie for dessert!
Red Baron Pizza and Edwards pies can be found in the frozen foods aisle.
What will you be serving on game day? I’d love to hear from you!
Go Team Pizza!
