Whip It Up Wednesday – Heart Cutlery Pockets
Starting with the Pockets, you will need jute or burlap, Little Sizzles Mat Board, Sizzix Big Shot, Cutting Pad, Premium Extended Crease Pad, Sizzix Bigz XL Heart Pocket Die and adhesive. I made two versions of the pockets, some with jute and some with burlap and lace. (affiliate links)
First, you will need to adhere the jute to the mat board with hot glue or a spray adhesive.
Once the glue has dried, make a sandwich by starting with a cutting pad, Pocket die, mat board with the jute faced down and the extended crease pad. Next, pass it through the big shot.
You will only need the two large die cuts for this pocket. To create the pocket, fold the tabs back and hot glue the tabs to the top of the heart. This will allow more room for the cutlery.
Moving on to the small flowers you will need the Sizzix Big Shot Pro, Flowers 3D #2 Bigz Pro Die, 2 Pro Cutting Pads and craft felt.
Start by making a sandwich, on top of the Sliding Tray and the Big Shot Pro Adapter Pad that come with the machine, start with one cutting pad, the pro die, craft felt (placed on the smaller of the two flowers), and a second cutting pad. Next, pass it through the Big Shot Pro.
Following the instructions found here and using a pencil as a guide; continuously coil the felt around the pencil starting with the outside end working your way to the center. Next, apply a generous amount of hot glue to the base to secure.
To make the leaves, I used the Brenda Walton Peony Sizzix Bigz L die Sizzix Big Shot. Start by making a sandwich using the peony die, felt and two cutting pads. Next, pass it through the Big Shot. Glue the flower and two leaves to a clothespin and attach it to the pocket.
Now add your cutlery to the pocket. I found plastic utensils fit best. How perfect will these look on your table?
See how I made a coordinating Wreath HERE. It’s still one of my favorite projects.
Happy Crafting!
