How to Make Cricut Cutaway Cards – DIY Mother’s Day Card
We’re going to make a Mother’s Day Cutaway Card using the 2×2 Card Mat and the Cricut Explore 3. The card mat is compatible with all Explore and Maker models. You can also cut multiple cards in one go. Simply use this Draw and Cut Technique for any theme and holiday card. Let’s get into the tutorial…
What you will need:
Cricut Explore 3 or any Explore/Maker Machine
I’ve created the Design for your use HERE
Check out the step-by-step tutorial that walks you through the entire process here…
Step 1:
If you want to create the design I made here, start by opening the design in Cricut Design Space. Pick the Cutaway Cards from the material list. Select more pressure for a clean cut.
Step 2:
Next, remove the paper liner from the card and place the insert card face down.
Step 3:
Insert the cards on the card mat and load them into the machine. Make sure to move the white wheels to the center so that they don’t leave indentations on the cards.
Step 4:
Send the design to the machine and cut. When done, remove the mat and gently remove the cards from the mat. Start weeding. I find the Cricut tweezers work well for this task. And don’t worry, the backer card isn’t sticky when done!
What do you think? I shared how you can make something similar for Valentine’s Day and the New Year’s Day card below…
