How to Make Party Favors Using a Munbyn Label Printer
If you’ve been following my blog, you know I love a good party favor. Especially when I can make a bunch of them easily and quickly! When Munbyn sent me the Munbyn Thermal Label Printer and saw all the cute pastel colored circle stickers I knew I could make the cutest party favors.
Why Use a Munbyn Thermal Printer for Party Decor
You may wonder why I would use a Munbyn Thermal Printer for Party Decor when I can just as easily use a printer and sticker paper. Well, the bottom line is cost and ease. With the thermal printer, I don’t need to worry about refilling ink or purchasing special inkjet sticker paper. Plus the stickers come in different colors that sticker sheets for inkjet printers do not. Not to mention the speed! Once you set up your design, printing it faster than any inkjet printer that I’ve used. Especially if you plan to use your Munbyn Thermal Printer for other needs like shipping labels, thank you stickers, and other small business marketing, using it for party decor is a no-brainer!
How to Design Party Favor Stickers for the Munbyn Thermal Printer
I started by creating Halloween images in Canva using a 2-inch by 2-inch template. Let’s go over the steps…
Step 1:
Go to Canva.com in your internet browser. Select CREATE DESIGN and enter the parameters of 2 inch x 2 inch. You will see an option pop up for 2 inch circle, select it.
Step 2:
You will see the template with a grayed-out circle, this is there to show you the border of the circle so that you can keep your design within the circle. In the ELEMENTS section on the left, type HALLOWEEN SAYINGS or whatever theme you are looking for and press enter. You will now see a large variety of images that you can use for your party circles.
Step 3:
Select an image and resize it to fit within the circle. Add as many pages as you need to create a variety like I did for my project.
Step 4:
Download the file as a PDF and open it with Acrobat Reader. Select your Munbyn Printer and the 2×2 sticker paper. Print as many as you want! Super easy and so very fast!
If you don’t have access to Canva, you can learn how to create stickers using Word here.
Set up was relatively easy since all I needed to do was plug the USB into my computer and download the newest drivers.
To create the bag toppers, I created 4×6 template in Canva like I did with the circles and added the image to both the top and bottom of the label. Downloaded and printed. I tried the sides once printed, since they were slightly larger than the bags I used.
What You Will Need to Make Party Decor with the Munbyn Thermal Printer
Now that you know how to design your own party labels and stickers, let’s go over the materials used for this project:
Munbyn Thermal Printer and Label Stand
Paper Straws
Favor Bags
Candy for the Favor Bags
Hot Glue Gun
Paper Punch
Scrapbook Paper/Cardstock
Graphics of your choice
For the party favor candy bags, I filled them with candy corn. I printed the “bag toppers” I designed using the 4×6 shipping label, trimmed them to size, and applied them to the top of the bags. I then printed a variety of Halloween designs and printed them on pink, blue, and purple 2-inch circle stickers. These were great on the candy bags, but I also made them into cupcake toppers.
For the cupcake toppers, I cut circles from coordinating cardstock using a circle punch. I then applied the stickers in the center. I cut a paper straw in half and glued the circle to the top of the straw to make the cupcake topper.
More Party Decor Ideas with the Munbyn Thermal Printer
Need more ideas on how to use the circle party stickers? You can make popcorn balls or baked goods, wrap them in plastic wrap, and top it with a sticker. If you’re serving cake, you can string several circles on some baker’s twine and attach it to paper straws to make a pennant-style cake topper. Don’t forget you can use them for your party invitations and thank you cards too!
I created a quick video showing how easy it is to load the printer as well as how I created and assembled the party favors, be sure to check it out below:
I really love this little printer. It prints in high resolution with a crisp look and saves time. It can print 72 labels per minute! Another favorite feature is that there is no ink or toner required and they are BPA-free, which is great for using for cupcake toppers! I especially like the pink color and white color of the printer, it matches my craft room perfectly. Of course, it works great for shipping labels, but I love how versatile it is to create these party favors! There are so many ways you can use the Munbyn printer for a small business or a hobby crafter. You can create thank you card seals, themed stickers for all seasons, and food labels, just to name a few.
I hope you consider using the Munbyn Label Printer for party favors this Halloween season! I can’t wait to share more ideas for other ideas and occasions with you!
