Everyone needs a break. A moment to gather your thoughts, clear your mind and regroup. If you have been following me for a while, you will know that I work outside the home full-time. In addition to being a Wife, Mother, blogger and party stylist, I have an amazing career that I love. Every day I go to work knowing that the company I work for helps Cancer patients live more fulfilling lives. You see, I’m an HR Manager, a position I have held for more than 20 years. As you can imagine, there are many challenges in the work place. Boy, could I tell you a story or two! But of course, I won’t. I’m a vault. 😉
I Love Cafe Breaks
With my chosen career comes a lot of responsibility and I spend most of my day solving problems for employees and management. So, when three o’clock rolls around I step away from my desk, grab my notebook, a cold glass of water and a snack. And I walk. I walk away from the responsibility for a few minutes and gather my thoughts. I find a nice area outside and just….breathe.
You see, as much as I love my job, it’s all “left brain” work. As a creative person, I need to create! So I take out my notebook and I brainstorm ideas for my creative outlet, my blog.
And I refuel! Sometimes with a piece of fruit, sometimes with a smoothie, but lately I’ve been loving the Cafe Breaks pudding. With less than 100 calories, I can “treat” myself with a gluten free Caramel Latte or Mocha Latte and no guilt!
Simple pleasures. It’s what life is all about, isn’t it? Taking a step back to plan, reflect and breathe. We all need a break.
