Are you planning a trip to California soon? If you haven’t been to Yosemite National Park, you’ll want to add it to your bucket list for sure! We recently spent a couple of days hiking the park and I’m excited to share some of the breathtaking views with my list of 6 Must See Spots at Yosemite National Park!
6 Must See Spots at Yosemite National Park
Of course, Yosemite is filled with numerous beautiful views, falls and hiking trails, but these 6 spots can all be visited in a one day visit to the park. The Yosemite Shuttle Bus stops at each location to make your sightseeing even easier, and it’s free!
Let’s get started!
Half Dome
This ginormous granite dome is probably the most famous landmarks of Yosemite. It’s more than 4,737 feet above the valley floor and a favorite among climbers! Although you wouldn’t ever find me trying to climb it! I personally prefer enjoying the view from the valley. 😉
Lower Yosemite Falls
A hike to the Lower Yosemite Falls is a perfect trail for the whole family. There are plenty photo ops along the scenic path and the loop is paved for easy access!
The Majestic (formerly The Ahwahnee Hotel)
The Majestic is a grand hotel which opened in 1927. The Great Lounge and and Grand Dining Room are sure to be on your list to see!
We actually stayed here a couple of nights and it was such a treat. The view from our room was amazing! Did you know that designers modeled the hotel in The Shining after elements from The Majestic? How cool is that?
The Ahwahnee Bridge & Merced River
Just a short walk behind The Majestic Hotel is the Ahwanhnee Bridge and the Merced River. This is such beautiful little spot, great for photos!
You can even take the path and check out the Mirror Lake. Isn’t this view gorgeous?
Bridalveil Fall
Another popular tourist spot is Bridalveil Fall. It’s a bit of a steep hike, but definitely worth the short trek.
Tunnel View
One of the most famous views of the park is at Tunnel View. From this awesome viewpoint you can see Bridalveil, El Capitan and Half Dome along with a gorgeous view of the valley. You can access this point at the east end of the Wawona Tunnel along Highway 41.
And that’s it for my list of the top 6 Must See Spots at Yosemite. I hope you are inspired to visit this breathtaking natural wonder very soon!
