How to Make a St. Patrick’s Day DIY Tea Towel with Cricut
I may not be Irish, but I do love St. Patrick’s Day. I love making a big batch of Corned Beef and Cabbage for the family and traditionally celebrate with a little party. In fact, the very first Blog Post I made was on St. Patrick’s Day! So it has a special place in my heart. I don’t decorate much for a holiday, but I will put out a small tired tray display in my kitchen. So of course, a decorative DIY Tea Towel is a must! So let’s get into this fun project…
What you will need:
- Flour Sack Tea Towel (I get mine at Sam’s Club and Dollar Tree)
- Cricut Machine (I used my Cricut Explore 3)
- Heat Transfer Vinyl in 2 colors (I used Cricut Smart Iron On Vinyl in Black and Green Glitter Iron On
- Cricut Roll Holder (optional but comes in handy with the Smart Materials!)
- Heat Press (I used my Cricut AutoPress)
- Irish Kisses and Shamrock Wishes SVG/PNG
I created a quick step-by-step video to walk you through the process, check it out below…
Step 1:
Download the design and import it into Cricut Design Space. Make any adjustments you want with colors, etc., and send it to your Cricut. Load your vinyl per the prompts within Cricut Design Space and cut!
Step 2:
Set the Heat Press to the temperature and time per the Cricut Heat Guide. Your temperatures will vary from my project depending on the materials of your project and the vinyl you are using.
Step 3:
Press the tea towel and preheat per the Cricut Heat Guide.
Step 4:
Weed the vinyl. I always like to layer them before pressing to make sure everything lines up.
Step 5:
Center the design on your tea towel and press. Remove the carrier sheet and you’re all done!
What do you think? Wasn’t that as simple as I promised? I love making tea towels for all seasons and holidays. They also make a great addition to a gift basket! Need more tea towel ideas? Check out this Handwritten Tea Towel project.
