How to Sublimate a Glitter Drawstring Backpack
Ever since I started researching sublimation, I’ve been wanting to try the glitter backpacks and sequins pillows. When my friends over at Craft Express sent me a shipment of assorted blanks, I knew one of the first things I wanted to try was the Glitter Drawstring Backpack. So, let’s get right into the tutorial!
What you will need:
Sublimation Printer (I use an Epson F170)
Design of your Choice (I used one from Canva, but you can find lots on Creative Fabrica with the All Access Free Trial)
I created a quick video to show you the simple process, check it out below:
Now that we’ve seen the process, let’s walk through it step by step…
Step 1:
Download your design, and resize it to fit the bag as needed. Print on your sublimation printer. If you need to make the design bigger than the paper size for your printer, check out my favorite hack.
Step 2:
Press the bag to remove wrinkles and moisture.
Step 3:
Set the Heat Press to 385 degrees and the timer to 45 seconds
Step 4:
Place butcher paper on the inside of the bag. Remove lint and dust with the lint roller.
Step 5:
Center the image on the bag and secure it with heat-resistant tape.
Step 6:
Cover with butcher paper and press.
Step 7:
Remove the butcher paper and print to reveal your design.
And that’s it! This project is perfect for beginners and I personally love the quality of the bag. It’s thicker than I expected and shines beautifully.
I hope you give this project a try, and if you do, please tag me on @michellespartyplanit on all social channels.
