How to Change Text In Cricut Design Space
I was perusing Cricut Design Space for a cute Halloween graphic and this little fella caught my eye. Except I didn’t care for the font too much. So I changed it up and I’m going to share how you can do the same…so let’s get into it.
First, add the graphic to your canvas.
Ungroup the graphic and click Contour. Hide the text by clicking it.
Now you have an empty space for your new text.
Select your font and add your text to the canvas. Change color if needed.
Add an offset. I used 0.042 and in black. Group the offset and text together.
Resize and align with the other parts of the graphic. Send it to the back so the ghost is in front.
Grab all the components and change the operation from Basic Cut to Print then Cut.
Grab all the components, attach, and flatten them. Resize as needed and print on your sublimation printer. Don’t forget to mirror!
How to Sublimate a T-Shirt
Sublimation works best with 100% polyester shirts, and my favorite ones are from Cricut. They are super soft and hold the sublimation ink very well.
What you will need:
Sublimation Printer and Sublimation Paper
Heat Press (I use my Cricut AutoPress)
Lint Roller
Do you love my version? You can access it here in Cricut Design Space or create your own!
Now let’s go over the sublimation process. I created a quick video showing you the steps, check it out below.
Step 1:
Press the shirt to remove wrinkles and moisture.
Step 2:
Set the Heat Press to 390-400 degrees and the timer to 60 seconds
Step 3:
Place butcher paper on the inside of the shirt. Remove lint and dust with the lint roller.
Step 4:
Center the image on the shirt and secure it with heat-resistant tape. These t-shirt guides come in handy!
Step 5:
Cover with butcher paper and press.
Step 6:
Remove the butcher paper and print to reveal your design.
Isn’t it adorable? I like it so much better with the chunky font and black outline. I hope this tutorial comes in handy if you ever need to change the text on an image you like in Cricut Design Space.
