If you’ve been hanging out here long, you know I love tools that actually help you work smarter , not just tools that look cool on a shelf. Recently, I got to spend some quality time with the WeCreat Lumos laser and after using it on everything from metal bracelets to custom packaging, I’m excited to share what this machine is really capable of for makers, small business owners, and craft sellers.

WeCreat Lumos Laser
I’m excited to share what’s possible when you have a compact, capable laser that works fast, cuts and engraves tons of materials, and fits into a real business workflow, especially at events, craft fairs, markets, and pop-ups.
What Makes the Lumos Stand Out
The Lumos is a dual-laser system, it combines two lasers in one machine:
-
A 3W infrared (IR) laser for deep engraving, including on metal
-
A 10W diode laser for engraving and cutting many materials like wood, leather, cork, and cardboard
That means you aren’t stuck only creating on wood or acrylic, you can really engrave metal too, which opens up jewelry, gifts, branded items, and more.
What’s particularly cool about this setup is that it doesn’t just engrave, depending on how you adjust the settings, you can create colorful effects on metal surfaces, deeper and faster engravings, and crisp detailing that truly elevates the look of your finished piece.
It also has a built-in camera and alignment system that helps you place your design exactly where you want it, no guesswork.
Why Portable and Fast Truly Matters for Makers
If you sell handmade goods, you’ve probably noticed something:
People love personalized items.
But personalization only works in a real-world sales environment if it’s fast and easy.
If someone has to wait 20 minutes for you to engrave a piece during a craft fair, you’re probably going to miss out on other customers while they’re waiting. But if you can personalize an item in 60–90 seconds (right in front of them) that changes the experience entirely.
And that’s exactly what I found with the Lumos.
My First Project: Personalized Metal Bracelets
I started with aluminum engravable bracelets, the kind that are flat before bending, so you first engrave your design, then curve them into bracelet form.
Step-by-Step
-
Place your bracelet under the laser and align it using the camera feed in the software.
-
In the Make It software, type names or phrases, choose a font, and add small decorative elements like hearts.
-
Select your material type, for metal, I use the setting that pairs with the IR laser so you get the right power and focus.
-
Use the autofocus feature so the machine knows exactly where and how deep to engrave.
-
Send the job and watch it go.
On this particular project, the estimated time was just about 1 minute and 2 seconds, and that’s not sped-up footage, that’s real time in action. That means I could confidently offer on-the-spot personalization at markets without losing foot traffic or slowing my booth down.
Once the engraving finished and I lifted the laser shield, the text and design were sharp, clear, and perfectly positioned. Then I took the blank metal piece and bent it into bracelet form using a simple bending tool, literally placing it into the form and gently shaping it. The result? A finished, personalized bracelet ready to give or sell.
Packaging with Purpose: Branding Your Boxes
One of the smartest ways to add value to your products (especially gifts) is through packaging.
Instead of just putting a finished item into a plain box, imagine adding your logo or a custom design to the packaging itself.
I tried this next with a corrugated box and the Lumos. Back in the Make It software, I uploaded my logo, chose the material setting for corrugated cardboard, and sent the job.
Within seconds, my logo was engraved onto the box right in front of me. This kind of branding adds a personal, professional touch. And it’s something you can offer customers as an extra service or premium upgrade at markets.
Whether you’re packaging a bracelet, a set of coasters, or a gift bundle, this type of personalization can make your brand stick in people’s minds.
Other Materials I Tested
Of course, I didn’t stop at bracelets and cardboard. I tried:
-
Cork coasters: engraving cute designs
-
Wood pieces: both engraving and cutting for décor.
-
Pencils and erasers: simple, small items that personalize beautifully.
Everything came out clean and detailed, with consistent results.
And that’s what matters most, you can spend less time wrestling with settings and more time creating, selling, and making meaningful connections with your customers.
See it in action!
What You Can Use the Lumos For
This machine isn’t just about bracelets. Here are some ideas you might already be thinking about or find inspiration in:
-
Personalized jewelry and keepsakes
-
Branded packaging and gift boxes
-
Customized home décor items
-
Engraved business logos on promotional products
-
Personalized signage for weddings or events
-
Trainable templates for batch engraving
Because the Lumos handles multiple materials and does so accurately and quickly, it becomes more than a laser, it becomes a creative extension of your business workflows.
The biggest takeaway for me? A tool like the WeCreat Lumos isn’t just another piece of tech. It’s something that can genuinely change how you work, how you sell, and how you connect with your customers.
Speed matters. Precision matters. The ability to personalize in front of someone (right at a craft fair or market) is something people notice and are willing to pay for. That’s where a machine like this stops being just a gadget and starts being a business differentiator.
If you’re already doing customization and you’re thinking about upping your game, this laser is worth a good hard look — especially if you love creating fast, creative, customer-ready pieces without tons of fuss.
