The following post was sponsored by Cost Plus World Market, as always, all opinions are my own.
Mardi Gras is coming up fast, how will you celebrate? How about hosting an intimate Mardi Gras Brunch? I’m excited to have partnered with World Market to bring you some delicious ideas including a recipe for Fat Tuesday Bread Pudding!
Starting with a trip to World Market, I knew I wanted my brunch to have a French Quarter Cafe feel while keeping with the traditional Mardi Gras colors of purple, green and gold. I found a Farmhouse Chalkboard for my backdrop as well as a Mardi Gras Garland set from Meri Meri. To keep it simple, I draped the banner in front of the chalkboard and hung some mask beads.
A few chocolate coins and beads bring Mardi Gras right to the table! I love the Fleur De Li Napkins! The gold foil add the perfect touch!
Mardi Gras Food and Drinks
You can’t have a Mardi Gras Brunch without lots of rich and delicious food! I made a batch of Southern Pecan pancakes and topped them with powdered sugar and strawberries.
My husband is of French descent and loves all French pastries, so Crepes were a must have! I filled Ready Made Crepes with fresh strawberries and Milk Caramel Spread. They were a big hit!
Quiche is another must for any brunch! I made spinach Quiche in mini baking dishes and topped them with fresh tomatoes. Don’t you love the little chalkboard picks?
I also baked Bread Pudding (recipe below) in mini baking dishes. Doesn’t everything taste better in mini dishes?
We are big coffee drinkers, so naturally we had plenty of Cafe Du Monde French Roast coffee on hand. To keep the table decor simple and accent with the Mardi Gras beads and coins, I decided on all occasion white serveware.
I whipped up a batch of Beignets using the Cafe Du Monde Beignet Mix. These were much easier than I anticipated and complimented the coffee nicely!
Once we were ready to eat, I topped the bread pudding with whipped cream, it was so delicious!
