How to Make an Easter Bunny Sack
Not only is this a Dollar Tree craft, but it’s also an excellent sublimation craft for beginners. You can sublimate the image on a satin or 100% polyester pillowcase. Remember when I shared How to Make a Santa Sack? Well, it’s the same idea but I’ve created an adorable bunny mail sack for Easter! Let’s get into the details:
What you will need:
- 100% polyester or Satin pillowcase from Dollar Tree
- Sublimation Paper
- Sublimation Printer (I use an Epson F170)
- Heat Resistant Tape
- Cricut Machine (I used my Cricut Joy)
- HTV (I used Holographic Sparkle Iron On)
- Scissors
- Heat Press (I used my Cricut Auto Press and Mini EasyPress)
- Ribbon
- Drawstring Threader
- Butcher Paper
- Lint Roller
- My Easter Sack Design
I created a quick step-by-step video to show you the process, check it out below…
Now, let’s go through each step…
How To Sublimate an Easter Sack
Step 1
Resize the design to fit the pillow case and your printer’s specifications. I uploaded the design in Canva to resize it then created a printable PDF to print. I printed it on 8.5 x 14 sublimation paper and taped it together to make one large design. Don’t forget to mirror your design.
Step 2
Press the Pillowcase to remove wrinkles, and use a lint roller to remove lint.
Step 3
Preheat your heat press to 400 degrees and set the timer for 60 seconds Place a piece of butcher paper inside the pillowcase to prevent the ink from leaking through. Place butcher paper on your heat-press, and place the pillowcase with taped design faced down and centered. Cover with butcher paper and press for 60 seconds. Repeat for each section.
Step 4
Remove the paper to reveal the finished print. Next, create your name in your favorite font in Cricut Design Space. Send it to your preferred machine and cut it on your favorite HTV. Cut and weed. Center on design and press. I used my mini easy press set on the medium setting. Remove the carrier sheet when cooled.
Step 5
Next cut small slits inside the pillow case for the ribbon. Using the drawstring threader, add ribbon. Singe the ends with a lighter to prevent fraying.
Step 6
Fill up the sack with wonderful Easter goodies!
And that’s it! Now you have a personalized Easter Sack for gifts on Easter Morning!
