DIY Carrot Patch Dollar Tree Sign
I love bunnies, I think they are the cutest and sweetest of all of God’s creatures. And obviously, I can’t resist a cute cotton-tail bunny bum! As you can see by this Shake Your Bunny Tail DIY Dollar Tree Sign. I saw the cutest bunny bottoms at Dollar Tree and knew I could make an adorable Carrot Patch Dollar Tree Sign with the help of my Cricut Joy. Let’s get into all the details…
What you will need:
Cutting Mat (check Dollar Tree for a comparable one)
Wood Sign from Dollar Tree
White Pom Pom (check Dollar Tree)
My design in Cricut Design Space
I created a quick how-to video for you to see the process below…
Now, let’s go through the steps:
Step 1:
To start, get the wood sign and remove the twine, keep it aside, we’ll need it later. Place the white HTV over the wood plaque you’ll want to make sure the shiny side is up. Then flip it over to secure the vinyl to the wood with heat-resistant tape.
Step 2:
Once secured, we’re going to press it at 300 degrees for 40 seconds. Don’t forget the butcher paper to protect the pressing mat.
Step 3:
Next, we’re going to cut the excess vinyl with a craft knife on a craft mat. Remove the carrier sheet and sand the edges as needed.
Step 4:
Open up the design in Cricut Design Space. I have already sized it to fit the Dollar Tree sign, but if you are using a different wood piece, resize it as needed. Send it to your machine.
Step 5:
Next, grab your mat and apply your HTV. Cut and weed the design.
Step 6:
Now, carefully line up the lettering you cut, and using the mini press set on high, press for a few seconds until adhered. Make sure to use a piece of butcher paper to protect the sign. Peel away the carrier sheet.
Step 7:
Put the twine back on the sign. Add wood beads to the twine.
Step 8:
Break off the wood pick from the bunny bum and replace the tail with a fluffy pom pom. Glue the bunny bum to the sign.
What do you think? I think this Carrot Patch Dollar Tree Sign is adorable and love how it turned out!
