How to Sublimate A Baseball Mug with Cricut
I created this mug as a gift and thought I’d share how you can create it with your favorite little league or any league team logo. But, before we start, this idea is for personal use only and any trademarked logos should not be used for resale purposes. So let’s get into it!
What you will need:
Cricut Mugs (I used the 15 ounce mugs)
Sublimation Paper (8.5 x14 size)
This Design I created in Cricut Design Space
I created this short video to show you how to sublimate a baseball mug, check it out below…
Let’s go over the steps in Cricut Design Space…
Step 1:
Open the design in Cricut Design Space. I have it all ready for you to Print Then Cut. You will need 8.5×14 sublimation paper for this project, so make sure your paper settings are correctly sized. But if you want to personalize it, follow the next steps.
Step 2:
Customize to match your team’s colors by clicking the layers and change the print then cut colors as shown above.
Step 3:
To personalize it with your favorite team’s logo, upload the image as a Print Then Cut image and add it to the project. Resize and center.
Step 4:
Attach and flatten all layers.
Step 5:
Follow the prompts in Cricut Design Space to print your project on your sublimation printer. Be sure the image is mirrored in Cricut Design Space so that it cuts correctly. You may need to turn off the mirroring within your printer settings.
Step 6:
Once printed, load the legal-sized paper onto a 12×24 mat. Make sure you load it the same way it shows on the preview cutting screen. Set the material setting to Medium Cardstock. Cut.
Step 7:
You will now have a template that will fit perfectly around the Cricut mug. Wrap it around the clean mug and secure it with heat-resistant tape. Cover with butcher paper to protect the press.
Step 8:
Place the mug in the mug press, and push down the lever. Once the press beeps, remove the mug and let it cool. When cooled. remove the butcher paper and template to reveal the design.
What do you think? Wasn’t that super easy?
I hope you give this Cricut Mug Press project a try, and if you do please tag me on social media @michellespartyplanit. I’d love to see your favorite team mug!
