DIY Party Favor
Happy Monday! Today I’m sharing a party favor I made for my recent “Stopping Time…Forever Thirty-Nine” birthday party using the Sizzix ScoreBoards Suitcase Die by Eileen Hull. Since paper-crafting is a huge party of my party planning process, I love to incorporate as many paper projects I can with my parties. My favorite part about the Scoreboards Dies by Eileen Hull, is that they are easy to incorporate into any party theme. Unfortunately, I created one too many paper crafts this time around and didn’t end up using these adorable suitcase party favors as planned, but still thought I’d share them with you!

To start, I created a sandwich with one extended cutting pad, the Suitcase die, chipboard with the extended premium crease pad on top, and passed it through my big shot. Once cut, I then “aged” the pieces with Distress Ink for a worn leather look.
To add dimension and a pop of color, I added black ink to the Clocks Textured Impressions Embossing folder with a brayer. (Don’t worry about inking your embossing folders, the inks wipes right off!)
I then placed a trimmed piece of Kraft Core paper by Tim Holz between the embossing folder. To create a sandwich , I placed a standard cutting pad on the top and bottom of the folder and used the Multipurpose platform to pass it through my Big Shot.
I then adhered the embossed paper to the front and back pieces of the suitcase.
I wanted to add additional detail to the sides of the suitcase, so I repeated the inking and embossing process with contrasting paper and the Gears Embossing folder.
For more detail, I die cut a stamp with the Weathered Clock Die by Tim Holtz and adhesive craft foam. To create the stamp, I created a sandwich with a standard cutting pad, the Weathered Clock die, adhesive Craft Foam and another Standard Cutting pad, and passed it through my big shot. To assemble the stamp, I removed the backing of the craft foam and adhered it to a stamp block. I then stamped a part of the Clock on the edge of the suitcase with black ink.
To assemble the box, I followed the instructions included with the die. You can also find the full instructions here. I then lined the inside of the suitcase with coordinating Washi tape for more detail.
Using the Latches Original Die, Steampunk On The Edge Die and Pandora Thinlits, I added a latch, a key and gear to the suitcase for a finishing touch. I then attached a “Thank You” tag that I made with a stamp from my stash and filled the suitcase with a bag of Jelly Beans.
And there you have it, “Traveling Through Time” Party Favors! I had lots of fun creating these party favors and I look forward to incorporating the Suitcase Die in other upcoming shindigs!
Thanks for visiting and God Bless!
