My family loves Halloween and all things Avengers, so naturally we wanted to have a Halloween Avengers Costume Party this year to coincide with the Blu Ray/DVD release of MARVELs The Avengers: Age of Ultron movie!
Halloween Avengers Costume Party Plan
Whenever you plan a party, it’s always helpful to have an actual plan. So today, I’m sharing how easy it is to create a fun Avengers Costume/Movie viewing Party for Halloween!
Costumes at a Stock Up Price
All three of my boys have grown up watching all of the MARVEL movies and all have loved dressing up year around. So when I saw the awesome MARVELs The Avengers: Age of Ultron costumes at Walmart, I had to stock up! You can find a large selection of Super Hero Costumes for $15 in the Halloween section. Of course, I had to pick up a copy of MARVELs The Avengers: Age of Ultron while I was there. You can find the DVD and Blu Ray in the movie section.
At $15 each, these costumes are such a great deal! I bought three! My youngest plays dress up constantly and since he has outgrown his current Iron Man, Thor and Captain America costumes, I grabbed a new set at this stock up price! Hulk, Black Widow, Thor, Captain America, Ultron, Vision, Iron Man, and Hawk Eye are available at Walmart, check your local store.
Decorations
Every great party needs awesome decorations! I used a large poster for my backdrop and also created a matching banner to hang in front of my party table. I also created some cupcake toppers with our favorite avengers!
Party Props
Now that you are fully stocked on Halloween Costumes and have your decorations, start collecting costume props (many of which can also be found at WalMart). I raided my boys’ rooms and gathered their Iron Man Helmet, Captain America Shield, Thor’s Hammer, Hulk Hands and a plastic poker chip case. I created a faux cake with foam and lighting bolt paper and Thor’s Hammer was the perfect cake topper!
Who says pumpkins and skulls don’t go with the Avengers? Not this girl! I say, a few silver pumpkins to represent Ultron and a Red Skull to represent Hydra are the perfect props for an Avengers Costume Party! I added the Black Window symbol to my black pumpkin, I also painted a plastic skull red and added the Hyrda logo for fun.
Well, you can’t have Hyrda without S.H.I.E.L.D.! I added the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo to a plastic silver “briefcase” (actually a poker chip case) in remembrance of Agent Coulson. (Of course, if you watch the TV series, we know that Agent Coulson is alive and well.)
Avengers Themed Sweets & Treats
I prefer easy sweets and treats when hosting a party. So I whipped up some Hulk Gamma Ray Jello, Thor Hammer cereal treats, Vision Mind Stone chocolate covered Oreos and some vanilla cupcakes. Candy is a must, it is a Halloween party after all! So I filled a couple of jars with Iron Man inspired peach rings and green Hulk sour belts. I also added tiny paper stars to some blue Rip Rolls for Captain America shields.
These Thor Hammers were so fun to make! I whipped up a batch of cereal treats and added a pretzel rod for the handle. Then I covered them in grey candy melts and brushed silver highlighter dust to get the metallic sheen. Super easy and they are massive! I only made two for the party table since the highlighter dust is not recommended for consumption. But I made regular cereal treat squares for the boys to enjoy safely.
I added gold rock candy to my “Vision” chocolate covered Oreos. They look like Vision’s Mind Stone, right?
Time to Party!
Now that your decorations are up and your table is set, it’s time to suit up and have an Avengers Halloween Costume Party!
Ultron!
Vision!
Captain America!
Iron Man!
Thor!
Hulk!
Movie Time
Don’t forget the movie! Movie viewing parties are super easy because you don’t have to worry about your guests being bored or overwhelmed with party activities. Just have your guests grab their snack and pick a front row seat for the main feature, MARVELs The Avengers: Age of Ultron on Blu Ray and DVD!
Do you have an Avengers fan at home? Do you think they’d enjoy an Avengers party this Halloween? Let me know your plans, I’d love to hear. And don’t forget to check out the large selection of Halloween Costumes at Walmart!
Happy Haunting & Be Safe!
