Today I’m sharing the highlights from the little Rustic Chic Easter party we hosted this past Sunday!
You may not know, when it comes to crafting, my first love is fabric and sewing. I absolutely love fabric, even more than paper (if you can believe it)! This Easter, I decided to express my love for fabric (and EASTER) with a little rustic chic inspired Easter table complete with my favorites, burlap and lace.
Rustic Chic Easter Party Ideas
I wanted to keep the dessert table low key and budget friendly, so I reused a lot of items from past parties to create the look I wanted. For my backdrop, I made a Felt Flower Wreath with baby pink, ivory, heather beige felt and burlap lace ribbon. I hung the wreath and a ribbon garland that I made for a Tea Party back in 2012 in front of the kitchen window to bring in the natural sunlight. I draped burlap on a cream tablecloth and added a lace and burlap runner from Tablecloths Factory. I hung a lace bunting I purchased from Sweet Arm Candy in front of the table with felt flower clothespins that I made. Desi of {Desi}gn Cakes and Cupcakes made adorable Bunny Sugar Cookies and my dear friend, Jamie made Cross Rice Krispie Treats and Egg shaped Cake Pops. I displayed the cake pops in birch wood floral containers with Spanish Moss and filled the Mini Easter Baskets I made with pastel Jelly Beans. Because every party demands chocolate, I wrapped chocolate bars in paper bags and the burlap and lace ribbon. I filled the applique treat bags I made with Cotton Candy and dressed up some store bought Angel Food Bundt Cakes with pink shredded coconut and a Robin Egg. The bundt cakes made perfect “nests” for the centerpiece and best of all there was no need for a cake or cupcakes!
Egg Hunt
The family enjoyed a delicious brunch and of course, we had to have a little Easter Egg Hunt for the kiddos! It was so much fun watching my little man get into the festivities. He is one serious Egg Hunter, this kid means business!
After the Egg Hunt, my nieces and I decorated foam Easter Eggs!
This is a super easy project! All you need is a foam egg, sheet of 12×12 patterned paper or card stock, the Sizzix Big Shot, Eileen Hull Borders and Hydrangeas Bigz Die, 2 Standard Cutting Pads and a bunch of short sewing pins.
- Cut the 12×12 paper into 1.5 inch strips. Then cut the strips to make 1.5 inch squares.
- Create a Sizzix Sandwich by stacking one cutting pad, the Bigz Die, 5-6 squares (faced down on top of the center flower of the die), then a second cutting pad.
- Pass the Sandwich through the Big Shot. Repeat until you have die cut all the squares into flowers.
- Attach each flower to the egg with a pin until the egg is completely covered. Bend some of the petals up to add dimension.
And that’s it! A simple Easter decoration for your Easter table!
Don’t have foam eggs? Make them in any shape! How cute would it be to do cover a large foam sphere with paper flowers for party decorations or home decor year ’round?
It was a wonderfully blessed day with family and friends (that are like family). The weather was perfect!
I hope you enjoyed a blessed Easter Sunday with your family. Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you found inspiration for your next Rustic Chic event!
God Bless!
