Mother’s Day is just around the corner! What do you have planned to celebrate the most important woman in your life? How about a Coffee Brunch for Mom? We celebrated the wonderful ladies in our lives a little early this year with a just that! I love coffee and I love my Mom, so the two come together naturally and I’m excited to share how easy it is to celebrate Mom with coffee!
Moms really deserve more than one day a year, and I’m not just saying that because I’m a mother of three, but because it’s true. They really do deserve time to wind down and relax. Time to be catered to and not have to worry about cleaning the mess after. Celebrating Mom doesn’t have to break the bank or take hours upon hours to prepare. Something simple like a coffee bar with your favorite coffee (my favorite coffee happens to be by Green Mountain Coffee®) and a large spread of goodies is all you need. Single serve K-Cup pods and a Keurig Coffee Maker make it even easier and you don’t have to worry about washing a carafe!
How to Create a Coffee Brunch For Mom
Start by creating a coffee bar or station. Use a console table or counter top for guests to help themselves to coffee, creamers and sugar. Be sure to set out some milk or juice just in case guests want a coffee alternative. For my brunch, I decided on a farm style theme and used a sofa table I recently painted and distressed for the coffee bar (see my TUTORIAL). To carry on the theme, I hung a rustic “M” for Mom (my Mom’s name also starts with M, so it was perfect).
I also added a few more decor items below the coffee bar to carry on the rustic feel.
I wanted to have a couple of varieties for the guests to choose from, so I chose The Green Mountain Coffee® Organic Sumatra ACEH Dark Roast Coffee and Green Mountain Coffee® Nantucket Blend medium roast coffee K-Cup pods. I displayed them in a two tier galvanized metal stand. You can also display them in a basket or small distressed crate.
Get brewing! There is nothing like the smell a fresh cup of coffee! Did I mention that I love coffee? I remember waking up to that smell when I was little, my Nana (another awesome Mother) always started her day with a large cup and often let me sneak a sip or two. It’s amazing how a fragrance can bring back so many wonderful memories!
Coffee Tidbit: Did you know that Green Mountain Coffee® carefully sources the world’s best coffee using only the top 10% of coffee beans in the world? They have more than 50 distinct varieties of 100% Arabica coffee. It’s no wonder it really is my favorite coffee brand. Not only do I love the taste and smell but the fact that Green Mountain Coffee® is committed to improving the lives of coffee farmers and their communities hits close to home. I come from a family of agricultural workers, my great grandfather worked tirelessly harvesting fruit and managing farm workers for large companies. To know that Green Mountain Coffee® is committed to working hand in hand with the people who grow, harvest and mill the coffee, makes me love the brand even more.
Once you have decided on your decor and theme for the coffee bar, it’s time to load up on the pastries. Collect your cake plates and platters to showcase all the delectable delights. I love using neutrals with a splash of color on my tables, so I brought out my white serve-ware and accented with a couple of aqua cake plates. The aqua also tied in nicely with the monogram above the coffee bar.
Add some femininity and texture to your tablescape with a simple lace table runner. We are, after all, celebrating Mom!
Don’t forget the fresh fruit! Not everyone may want to splurge on pastries, so be sure you have choices for those counting calories.
And that’s all you need to do to show Mom your appreciation, a simple coffee brunch where she can kick up her heels and enjoy!

Green Mountain Nantucket is my favorite coffee in the whole wide world. My mom loves it too.
What a beautiful set up for Mother’s Day – I love how the color blue pops in there. I just had Nantucket Blend K-Cup this morning – so good.
If that is the kind of Mother’s Day celebration that I will have, I’d wish for it to be Mother’s Day everyday. Haha. The white and the blue is very nice.
Oh my, this is seriously the cutest little coffee bar set up I have ever seen. Seriously beautiful! Great job.
