What can be better than two of my favorite things, Crafting and Coffee? How about a Craft and Coffee Party? A couple of weekends ago, I styled a fun little get together at my Mom’s house for family and friends for a Craft & Coffee Party. My Mom hosted the event in her home which has the perfect kitchen for a Cafe style coffee and pastry counter. Just like a little corner cafe and bakery!
The Decor:
I added a few wooden letters to my chalkboard sign as well as a festive tissue garland. I set out some rustic decor and white cake plates. I also set up my Coffee marquee sign to add ambiance.
The Pastries:
I wanted to be sure to have a lovely spread of breads, muffins and pastries so I made a trip to the Walmart Bakery and stocked up on fresh goodies and also whipped up a batch of my Toffee Coffee Cake Muffins; made with the NESTLÉ® COFFEE-MATE® Liquid Coffee Creamer (see my decadent recipe below).
I served Marble bread, Banna Nut muffins, Blueberry Muffins, Creme filled pastries, Mini Pecan Tarts, Glazed Donuts and Biscotti. And of course hot coffee and plenty of NESTLÉ® COFFEE-MATE® Liquid Coffee Creamers!
My sons and nephews are too young to enjoy coffee just yet, so I made sure I had milk glasses out as well.
I’m a big time coffee drinker and I love variety when it comes to creamers. So the delicious Chocolate Boutique flavors are perfect for taking my coffee from drab to decadent!
The Crafts:
I wanted simple crafts for guests of all skill levels to enjoy. So I set out plain white ceramic mugs to paint with gold permanent paint pens as well as a variety of stamps and ink so we can make tags for our gift baskets. I also set the table with chalkboard chargers and wrote fun coffee inspired words. It was such a fun extra detail, everyone loved it!
The Gift Baskets:
I also made sure each guest received everything they needed to create a fun Gift Basket with their hand painted mugs and goodies. I included raffia as filler, a kraft tag, raffia string and a large clear cello bag to wrap the gift basket.
The Coffee Party:
As soon as our family and friends arrived, they helped themselves to the coffee and pastry counter. We enjoyed a little “coffee talk” before starting our craft session.
I love the NESTLÉ® COFFEE-MATE® Chocolate Boutique Liquid Coffee Creamers, Salted Caramel Chocolate being my personal favorite.
Rolled chocolate wafers make the perfect edible coffee stirrers!
Let’s get Crafting!
We started with painting a mug, each with a special someone in mind. I love how everyone’s mug was a reflection of their own personal style!
While we waited for the mugs to dry, we moved on to stamping the personalized gift tags.
Then we went back to the “bakery counter” to fill the baskets with fresh pastries. I also made sure everyone received a new bottle of NESTLÉ® COFFEE-MATE® Liquid Coffee Creamer to include in their basket.
Our friend Linda filled her basket with His & Hers mugs and baked goodies for her daughter and her fiancé.
My sister in law made a basket for my brother and nephew to enjoy.
Gift baskets are such a great way to express love and appreciation for that special someone. My son made a basket for his coffee loving Dad!
My Mom’s basket was filled with my Step-Dad’s favorite biscotti.
I filled my basket with my Hubby’s favorite fresh Toffee Coffee Cake Muffins. But I think I’m going to keep my heart mug for myself! Wink wink!
Toffee Coffee Cake Muffins
These muffins are so decadent and delicious! Your family will definitely ask for them by name!
What you will need:
2 cups Flour
1 1/2 cups Sugar
1 cup NESTLÉ® COFFEE-MATE® Liquid Coffee Creamer Toffee
2 Eggs (room temperature)
1/2 cup Melted Butter
1 tbs. Baking Powder
1/2 tsp. Salt
Start by sifting the flour, sugar, salt and baking laser together in a large mixing bowl. Next wisk the eggs, creamer and butter together. Slowly add the liquid mix to the dry ingredients and stir. There will be some lumps so no need to stir a lot.
Next, either grease a muffin pan or use muffin liners and fill 3/4 full. (I used my extra large muffin pan and made 6 jumbo muffins)
Bake at 400 for 20 mins for regular muffins or for 30 mins for jumbo muffins.
Let cool.
While the muffins cool, whip up some icinng and toffee toppings.
Toffee Icing
What you will need:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 1/2 tbs milk
1 tbs NESTLÉ® COFFEE-MATE® Liquid Coffee Creamer Toffee
1/4 tsp vanilla
Toffee candy crumbles
Simply whisk ingredients (except toffee crumbles) together and drizzle on top of the muffins with a small spoon.
Top with toffee crumbles and enjoy!
And that’s it! Everything you need to host a fun Craft and Coffee party! Be sure to head on over to Walmart and pick up your favorite pasties and NESTLÉ® COFFEE-MATE® Liquid Coffee Creamers! Plus you can save $.75 with Ibotta.
You can find the NESTLÉ® COFFEE-MATE® Liquid Coffee Creamer in the refrigerated section of the store.
I hope you are inspired to host your own party for your family and friends!
Happy Crafting!
