Happy Whip It Up Wednesday!
Are you looking for a cute and fun way to send a little love in your little one’s lunch? How about a I Heart PB & J Sandwich? I recently styled a “We Go Together Like PB & J” Valentine’s Day Party for Oriental Trading and I made these fun little heart shaped sandwiches for my boys. They were a big hit! Isn’t it funny how cute shaped food always tastes better?
These are so simple to make, a tutorial is not really needed. But I wanted to be sure you had a cute photo and post to pin for later! 🙂
I Heart Pb & J
Not only are these super cute, they don’t take much time to make! You can even make them the night before and pop them in the freezer for your own version of uncrustables! The kids can even make them themselves, since there are no sharp utensils needed. I don’t know about your kids, but my little guy hates bread crust, so fun shaped sandwiches are perfect for his turkey sandwiches too (he only likes “meat, cheese and bun” for his sandwiches)!
What you will need:
- Favorite Bread
- Favorite Peanut Butter
- Favorite Jelly
- Large Heart Cookie Cutter
- Small Cookie Cutter
- Butter Knife
Step 1:
Place two pieces of bread on the cutting board and using the large heart cookie cutter, press down firmly until you have cut through both pieces of bread.
Step 2:
Spread Peanut Butter and Jelly on one slice of bread.
Step 3:
Using the small cookie cutter, place it in the center of the top slice of bread and press down firmly to remove the heart shaped bread from the center.
Step 4:
Make a sandwich & enjoy!
I hope you try this cute little idea for your next Valentine’s Day party or maybe just a little “I love you” reminder for the kid’s lunch!
God Bless!
