Step 1: Create Your Design in Canva
I created my layout in Canva. This makes it much faster to batch multiple designs on one page.
Here’s how I set it up:
- Create a custom design sized to 8.5 x 14 inches
- Add rectangles sized to 1.25 x 12.5 inches for each keyfob design
The slightly larger width (1.25”) gives you a little bleed so you don’t end up with white edges after pressing.
You can duplicate this layout to fit multiple designs on one sheet, which is perfect if you’re making a variety of styles.
For this project, I created:
- Floral designs
- Cherry pattern
- Patriotic theme
- Ladybug print
Once your designs are ready, download and print using your sublimation printer.
Step 2: Cut Your Webbing
Start by cutting your polyester webbing to size.
For this project, I cut each piece:
- 12 inches long
- 1 inch wide
This size works well for wristlet-style keyfobs once folded and attached to hardware.
If you’re batch making these, go ahead and cut multiple pieces at once to save time.
Step 3: Prepare for Sublimation
Before pressing, prep your materials:
- Use a lint roller to remove any dust or debris from the webbing
- Place your printed design face down onto the webbing
- Secure with heat resistant tape
Because this is double-sided sublimation, you’ll be pressing both sides separately.
Step 4: Heat Press Settings
For this project, I used:
- Temperature: 380°F
- Time: 50 seconds
Using my HTVRONT heat press, I applied firm, even pressure.
Place butcher paper or a protective sheet underneath and on top of your project. Make sure your design is aligned before pressing, and avoid shifting when closing the press.
Step 5: Press Both Sides
To get a finished, professional look, you’ll want both sides sublimated.
After the first press:
- Remove the paper
- Let it cool slightly
- Reposition your second design
- Tape it down securely
- Press again using the same settings
This ensures your keyfob looks good from every angle.
Step 6: Trim and Seal the Ends
After pressing, check the ends of your webbing.
If there are any uneven edges or fraying, trim them clean with scissors. Then use a lighter to gently seal the ends. Lightly pass the flame across the edge just enough to melt the fibers, this helps prevent further fraying.
Be careful not to hold the flame in one spot too long. A quick pass is all you need.
This step makes a big difference in how polished your finished keyfobs look.
Step 7: Assemble the Keyfob
Once your webbing is fully sublimated, it’s time to assemble.
Start by folding the webbing in half to form a loop. Before adding the hardware, use a clip to hold the ends together. This helps keep everything aligned so both sides match up evenly when inserted into the hardware.
Slide the ends into the keyfob hardware, then use pliers to crimp it closed. Apply firm, even pressure so the hardware grips securely.
Step 8: Final Check
Before calling it done:
- Check alignment on both sides
- Make sure the hardware is tight
- Trim any loose threads if needed
That’s it, you now have a finished sublimation keyfob wristlet.
Why This Is a Great Product to Make & Sell

Tips for Best Results
- Add a slight bleed to your design to avoid white edges
