DIY Easter Cupcake Wrappers and Toppers
Dressing up cupcakes is one of my favorite party-planning tasks. When I started Michelle’s Party Plan-It, I sold handmade party-themed cupcake toppers on Etsy. So this idea is one of my oldies but goodies. 🙂 I remember making cupcake wrappers with my old Cricut cartridges way before there was Cricut Design Space! Now, it’s so much easier to create any themed cupcake wrappers in Cricut Design Space.
When I found these jumbo carrot cupcakes at Costco, I knew they’d look great on the table on Easter Sunday. Of course, with them being jumbo-sized, there was no way I would find cupcake wrappers to fit, so I made my own in Cricut Design Space. I wanted to create a cute garden-themed scene with a fence and grass wrapper so I welded some images in Cricut Design Space with one of the plain cupcake wrapper designs and voila! I have my own jumbo wrappers! Now that I did all the work, you can easily resize them and make them to fit your own cupcakes, so let’s get to the tutorial…
What you will need:
Cricut Machine of your Choice (Maker or Explore, this design is too large for Joy)
Cardstock (white and green)
Dollar Tree Bunny Bum Decorations
Paper Straw
Glue Gun
My Cupcake Wrapper Designs in Cricut Design Space
I created a quick tutorial to show you the process of assembling the wrapper and toppers, check it out below.
Now, let’s walk through the steps…
Step 1:
Open my design in Cricut Design Space. Resize if needed. I have them sized for the jumbo cupcakes.
Step 2:
Send the design to your machine, cut, and weed.
Step 3:
Layer the two wrappers and secure them with an adhesive tape roller.
Step 4:
Wrap them around the cupcake and secure them with the tab. I like to add tape as well.
Step 5:
Cut a paper straw in half and attach a Dollar Tree Bunny Bum with Hot Glue.
Step 6:
Insert the straw in the cupcake and you’re all set!
Just repeat for all your cupcakes and display them on your Easter table or dessert table.
